GRAND FORKS POLICE RESPOND TO THREE CAR ACCIDENT ON OVERPASS

On Monday, December 31 at approximately 3:32 p.m., Officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the Columbia Road overpass for a report of a three-vehicle accident.
A 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by Ruth Halcrow, from Carson, California, was northbound over the Columbia Overpass when she lost control and spun out.  Halcrow’s vehicle struck a 2006 Toyota Highlander, driven by Tim Driscoll of Grand Forks, who was southbound on the Overpass.  Halcrow’s vehicle continued and struck a second vehicle, a 2017 Chevy Silverado driven by Grant Dunham of Grand Forks, who was also southbound.  Halcrow was transported by Altru Ambulance for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.  Halcrow was cited with Care Required.
The Columbia Overpass was closed down for approximately 45 minutes while the crash was investigated, and the scene cleaned up.
The Grand Forks Police Department was assisted by the Grand Forks Fire Department and Altru Ambulance Services.
The Grand Forks Police Department would like to remind everyone to be slow down and be aware of changing road conditions caused by the weather. Overpasses are especially susceptible to being slippery.
