GRAND FORKS POLICE SEARCHING FOR DRIVER THAT FLED ON FOOT FOLLOWING ATTEMPTED TRAFFIC STOP SUNDAY

On Sunday, September 20, at about 8:02 p.m. an Officer with the Grand Forks Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a tan Ford Escape, ND/605-AXY for reckless driving in the 1000 block of North 51st St.  The vehicle fled the area and a pursuit was initiated by the officer.  The pursuit lasted several minutes and ended when the suspect crashed his car in a tree line north of the Budget Inn motel, 3400 Gateway Dr.  The male suspect/driver then fled on foot north into the tree line.  A K9 track was attempted however the suspect was not located and is still at large.
