HIGHLAND AND WASHINGTON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE READ-A-THON’S TOP READERS

Read-A-Thon fundraisers were held November 6-17 at Highland & Washington Schools. Students enjoyed themed days and friendly classroom competitions. Pre-K through 5th graders read 185,514 minutes (over 3,091 hours) during the 2-week event!

The top 3 readers this year were:

1st Place- 2nd grader Elizabeth Capistran, with 1,918 minutes read

2nd Place- 5th grader Keeva Kliner, with 1,730 minutes read

3rd Place- 4th grader Keira Gudmudson, with 1,280 minutes read

All proceeds will be used for field trip admissions and transportation, school supplies students need, enrichment materials teachers request for their classrooms, and to support special days and activities planned for our students throughout the year.

Highland and Washington PTO want to thank 300+ personal donors, including parents. families, and friends. They also want to thank the local Crookston businesses, who again supported the Read-a-Thon this year:
