Highland Elementary to Take Part in a Safe Walk, Bike, or Roll to School Event

Next Thursday, October 10, Highland Elementary School in Crookston is going to be taking part in a safe walk, bike, and roll-to-school day. Principal Chris Trostad says this is a fun day for the kids, and they are partnering up once again with Safe Kids of Grand Forks for the event. “Safe Kids of Grand Forks is a great organization,” says Trostad. “They really promote health and fitness, so they are helping us promote, we did this before, kind of safe walk, roll, and bike to school.”

Trostad says they are prepared for the day, and it should a lot of fun. “We asked the law enforcement to be here present; sometimes they give away prizes and things in the morning to kids,” says Trostad. “I think the buses will be dropping off at the bus garage, and the kids can walk from there.

Trostad hopes the kids will take advantage of the nice weather. “We really want to encourage kids to walk, roll, or bike to school on Thursday for sure,” said Trostad. “Thank you to Safe Kids of Grand Forks for helping promote this event and for your support in keeping communities safe.”
