HUGO’S SUPERMARKET SWEEP CONTEST & COOKOUT HIGHLIGHTS DAY TWO OF OX CART DAYS

Hugo’s Family Marketplace in Crookston hosted two of the biggest events on day 2 of Ox Cart Days. First was the Ox Cart Day’s Cookout in front of the store. People stopped by to grab a braut, bag of chips, and choice of pop from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Dan Erdman was the one doing the grilling.

Next up was the annual Hugo’s Supermarket Sweep Contest at 7:00 p.m. This year’s contestants were Nancy Hanson and Cynthia Ansbacher. Each contestant had 90 seconds to gather all the grocery items they could. The goal was to get the checkout price as close to $300 as you could. Cynthia edged out Nancy for the win and as a reward, got to take home all the groceries she gathered during the 90 seconds.

Below are photos from the two events.
