ICE BUSTER DAZE HITS CROOKSTON ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9

The 16th Annual Ice Buster Daze Fishing Derby & Radar Run is Saturday, February 9 in Crookston.  Suzie Kaiser says Ice Buster Daze is a lot of fun to put on and people seem to enjoy coming to the event even from a farther distance.  “It’s been a lot of fun years doing this,” said Kaiser.  “And it’s been great and a good turnout every year.  We’re glad that people come and enjoy it and come from far distances to enjoy this also.”

The begins with a breakfast for a free will offering at the Crookston Eagles explains Kaiser.  “That runs from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.,” said Kaiser.  “They have scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, sausage coffee, and juice.  It’s a free will offering and they have some excellent food up there.”

Following the breakfast, the fishing derby and radar runs will be held in Central Park.  “The ice fishing starts are 1:00 p.m., with registration at 11:00 a.m. and goes from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the ticket gets you in for the meal afterward at the Eagles,” said Kaiser.  “The radar runs go from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The bikini run begins at 1:00 p.m., we had 2:00 p.m. on the poster but that was an error and they want to get done a little bit earlier, so they’ll be running at 1:00 p.m.”

There are raffle prizes for those who purchased tickets and separate prizes for the fishing derby for the largest fish on down.
