The 35th Annual Miss Crookston Scholarship Pageant was held Monday night at the Crookston High School auditorium. This year’s theme was “Time of My Life.” Miss Crookston 2021 Hayden Winjum was the emcee.
Hayley Leckie, the daughter of Erika and Scott Leckie, was crowned Miss Crookston 2025. Hayley won the talent, evening gown, On-Stage Presence, and Freedom Award.
The first runner-up was Halle Nicholas, daughter of Jamie and Travis Nicholas. Halle won the Personal Interview.
Neshelle Tellez Vasquez, daughter of Awilda Tellez Vasquez and Bonifacio Tellez won the Miss Congeniality. Also competing was Taylor Wieland, daughter of Josh and Sarah Wieland.
Jean Ann Bienek is the Miss Crookston Pageant Director, and committee members include Adrianne Winger, Judy Meyer, Renee Tate, Emily Tate, and Kelly Chandler.
Debbie Fontaine choreographed the production number. Steve and Joe Krueger were in charge of the lights and sounds. Bo Brorby of KJAD Productions did videography. The photographer and social media manager was Lacia Hanson. Flowers were provided by Crookston Floral and Country Korner Floral. The sashes were by Kay Oien. The contestant interview host was St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
$4,750 in educational scholarships were awarded, with $2,275 in UMC scholarships awarded. In the past 35 years, 247 young women have participated in the program, and over $90,000 in education scholarships have been awarded.
