Jason Eric Sperling – OBIT

Jason Eric Sperling, 55, of Fargo, ND, and formerly of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, in his residence of natural causes.

Jason was born on August 10, 1968 in Crookston, MN, the youngest of 4 sons of the union of Wilbur and Madonna (Korynta) Sperling. He was baptized in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and began his education in Crookston. At the age of 10 Jason moved with his family to Grand Forks where he attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church while furthering his education. He also worked at Orton’s Service Station. In the 1990’s Jason moved to Fargo to make his home and at different times was employed by a local photographer and worked as a carpenter. He later found great fulfillment in his life as a volunteer with the Fargo branch of the Salvation Army.

Jason enjoyed being in the great outdoors whether camping, hiking, or just taking long walks. Outings with his brothers while hunting, fishing, and playing cards and boardgames on their weekend fishing getaways was very special for Jason. Quiet times were spent reading, studying history, and keeping current with world events and the latest sport news. He loved spending time with his mother and the rest of his family and looked forward to visits with them and his friends.

Jason will be very lovingly remembered by his mother, Madonna, a resident of The Summit in Crookston, MN; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Mark and Bonnie of Wadena, MN, and Shane and Dee, and Jeff and ReNae of Crookston; together with several nieces and nephews: Nicole, Justin, Chad, Natalie, Joshua, Matthew, Nadine, Heidi, Heather, Nerissa, and Christopher; extended family, and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur, who passed away on January 6, 1981; and grandparents, Fredrick and Anna Sperling, and Edward and Isabelle Korynta.

May God bless the memory of Jason Eric Sperling.

A private Memorial Service will be held by Jason’s family in honor his life. Messages of condolence may be offered by going to Jason’s obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com.
