Jean Ramstad – Obit

Jean Ramstad passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the age of 70.

Jean Ramstad was born July 10, 1951 in Devils Lake, ND to Harris and Mildred Seagren. She grew up in Lakota, ND.

She was the best mom, wife, sister, and friend anyone could ask for. She was so kind, loving, generous to everyone she met, and always fun to be around and talk to. Jean touched so many lives and will forever be in our hearts.

Jean went to school to be an LPN, and then met Darrell Ramstad. They married on January 27, 1973 and moved to rural Hatton, ND, and had two children: Lori and Darin.

During her time on the farm, she helped with the farm work and later worked at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville for 21 ½ years, retiring on June 30, 2013.

Jean enjoyed life and was involved with the community theater in Lakota and Hatton. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, collecting frogs and Betty Boop figurines. She also loved watching the MN Vikings and UND Fighting Sioux.

After Darrell’s death in 1997, Jean later met Allan Trudeau, one of the kindest, loving, fun man she could have met. The many years they were together was filled with love and laughter. He was by her side through thick and thin.

Jean is survived by a daughter: Lori Ramstad of Mayville, ND with Josh Erickson, Gage and Austin; a son: Darin Ramstad of Hatton, ND; fiancé: Allan Trudeau od Crookston, MN; sisters: Janet Burgett and Russ Buntrock of New York Mills, MN and Kate Wallace of Minneapolis, MN; brother: Montey (Marcy) Seagren of Bismarck, ND; Allan’s children and grandchildren: Heather (Josh) Bruley with Keaton, Hadley and Abby Bruley, Michelle (Dave) Fitchorn with Clara and Madison Fitchorn; nieces and nephews: Jason (Erica) Burgett with Austin and Tanner Burgett, Shannon (Brent) Eckley with Madison, Mike, Mariah, Mellisa and Anne Wallace, Ashley Burgett and fiance’ Brandy Bowman, Katie (Jeremy) Greenstein with Ashlynn, Holden, Emily (Eric) Lee and Cooper.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; Harris and Mildred Seagren; husband: Darrell Ramstad; father and mother in law: Wallace and Mardell Ramstad and brothers in law: Jim Wallace and Mike Burgett.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Memorial Service: Will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.

Burial: Will be in the Goose River Cemetery, rural Hatton, ND.
