John Grahek Jr. – Obit

John Grahek Jr., 48, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, December 3, 2021, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

John Carl Grahek Jr. was born September 22, 1973, in Okinawa, Japan to John and Linda Grahek. John grew up all over the world due to his father’s service in the Air Force. He graduated from Larimore High School, Larimore, ND in 1991. After high school, he attended Dakota College at Bottineau for wildlife management. He then went to work at Sam’s Club and then Lowe’s in Grand Forks. John married Kimberly Proulx on July 9, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN. John and Kim moved to Bemidji in October 2014 and John worked for Menards. John’s passion was fishing which brought him to most areas of the country when he participated in tournaments. He also enjoyed hunting and playing darts.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; son, Walter Grahek; sisters, Tiffany Wyant and Libby Nelson; aunt, Janet Grahek; in-laws, John and Janice Proulx; brothers-in-law, Rick (Lauren) Proulx, Rob (Jen) Proulx and Eric Proulx; nieces, Andi Proulx, Hildie Proulx, and Violet Wyant; nephew, Parker Proulx and many other nieces and nephews; uncle Butch Littrell and aunt Margie Grimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Scott Proulx.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to John’s family.
