JUVENILE DRIVES TAHOE INTO HOUSE, FATHER CITED FOR ALLOWING UNQUALIFIED OPERATOR

On Saturday, July 20 at about 12:54 p.m. officers of the Grand Forks Police Dept. were called to the 500 blk. of 4th Ave. S. for a Chevrolet Tahoe that ran into a house.  Upon arrival officers found an adult male and a 7-yr-old girl that had minor injuries.  The driver of the vehicle was located at home and was an 11-year-old girl.     The 7-year-old girl was brought to Altru Hospital by her mother.  Preliminary investigation indicated the Tahoe was southbound on Walnut St. and turned to go west on 4th Ave. South.  The vehicle then went over the curb on the north side of 4th Ave. S.  striking two trees and the house. The father was the male adult passenger and he was cited for “Allowing an Unqualified Operator”.  The Tahoe had significant damage and had to be towed.  Investigation is continuing with more charges possible.
