Kathy Duffy of Crookston, MN formerly of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls later in the spring. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Kathleen Luella Mohr was born on January 13, 1951, at Perham, MN daughter of James and Luella (Sazma) Mohr. She was raised in Osakis, Montevideo, and settled in Red Lake Falls, MN. Kathy graduated from Lafayette High School in 1969 and furthered her education at Thief River Falls Technical Institute receiving a degree in nursing.
She worked at St. John’s Hospital in Red Lake Falls before joining the US Army. She served her country for four years receiving an honorable discharge.
Kathy was united in marriage to John Duffy at Colorado Springs, CO. They returned to Red Lake Falls and Karlstad. They later moved to Indiana and in 1988 moved to Colorado. In 1991 she moved back to Red Lake Falls and in 2016 moved to Crookston where she was currently living with her daughter Sara. Kathy worked in health care her entire career, including Hillcrest Senior Living and the Villa in Crookston.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing with her grandson’s, embroidering, and cooking.
Kathy is survived by her daughter Sara Vargas of Crookston, MN, grandchildren Dylan (Lilah) of Red Lake Falls, MN, Martino, and TJ both of Crookston; great-granddaughter Kennedi; sister Debbie Kieckbusch of Fertile, MN; sister-in-law Marjorie (Chuck) Flage of Red Lake Falls, MN; niece Lori Jesme and nephews James (Brittney) Kieckbusch, Jonathan (Pamela) Mohr; great-nephews Tyler and Easton, great-nieces Alana and Sophia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Duffy, brother Mike Mohr, brother-in-law Jim Kieckbusch.
