Keith E. Dahlin – OBIT

Keith E. Dahlin, 72, of Euclid, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Edgewood Vista of East Grand Forks, surrounded by his family.

Keith Eugene Dahlin was born June 29, 1951, in Grand Forks, ND to Orville and Marjorie (Carvieau) Dahlin. He grew up in rural Euclid and graduated from Fisher Public School in 1970. Then he attended Moorhead Tech where he graduated with a degree in Diesel Tech. On June 1, 1974, Keith married the love of his life, Diane Stroot at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Euclid. They were blessed with four loving children and made their home on the family farm in rural Euclid where many family memories were made. He loved farm life and passed that on to his kids along with his hard-working values. Keith was a life-long farmer and beloved bus driver for Fisher Public Schools for nearly 30 years. Along with his late brother Dennis, they owned and operated Dahlin Brothers Construction. He was an avid toy collector and fan of John Deere but his greatest love was his family.  Keith served in many roles as a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Euclid and served as Keystone Township Clerk and Farm Bureau Board Member. After retirement, Keith enjoyed helping his sons run the farm, as THEE go-to guy and parts runner where he enjoyed extended, unscheduled coffee breaks. As a couple, Keith and Diane enjoyed trips to Dairy Queen, visiting Duluth and helping the boys move farm equipment. He loved toy shows, trips to Rolag, and will always be remembered for his gift of gab. He was a caring and loving father and grandfather and always loved watching his grandkids play.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Diane Dahlin of Euclid; children Steven (Janelle) Dahlin of Euclid, Angie (Joe) Marcotte of Warren, Kevin (Stacy) Dahlin of St. Paul, and Kyle (Jessinda) Dahlin of Warren; grandchildren Tanner Keith Marcotte, Brielle Faith and Blakely Kash Dahlin, Alex (Bailey) Marcotte and Brant (Natasha) Marcotte; great-grand son Walker Marcotte; in-laws Laurel Dahlin of Euclid, Betty Stroot, Duane (Rennae) Stroot and Maribeth Melbye all of Crookston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis Dahlin, grandson Nicholas Dahlin, granddaughter Bristol Dahlin, mother and father-in-law Wanda and Bill Stroot, brothers-in-law Ron Stroot and Carl Melbye.

Keith’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Alzheimer’s Association, Lutheran Social Services, and especially Edgewood Vista of East Grand Forks for their loving care. They truly went above and beyond.
