KIDS SNOWMOBILE RACING COMING TO CROOKSTON

The Crookston Area Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau along with KC Pro West Racing for Kids bring championship snowmobile racing to Central Park Saturday, January 5 and Sunday, January 6.  Hotlaps begin at 8:30 a.m., drivers meeting at 9:00 a.m. and the flag drops at 9:30 a.m.
“It’s youth snowmobiling racing for kids ages 4-14, broken out by ages and size of snowmobiles,” said race organizer Corey Brault.  “The kid’s race for points throughout the whole season and then at the end there is a big year-end banquet, and they get trophies for how they placed in their class throughout the season.”
The racers and their families will have a banquet Saturday night at Eagles.  “It takes pretty much all day to race and then at the Eagles Saturday will give out trophies at the banquet,” said Brault. “On Sunday we’ll give out the trophies at the trail.”
Crookston is the second stop in the six-weekend season, the first stop was in Pine Lake.  After Crookston, the season will continue in Thief Falls, Strathcona, Warren, and Roseau.
The event is sponsored by Driftbusters Snowmobile Club, Brault Construction, Kustom Kollision, Peterson Ag Services, Lyle Wilkens, Inc., Crookston Eagles Club, Reit Rock Paving, Valley Spray Foam – Troy & Connie Wilkens, SunOpta, State Farm/Andy Oman Agency.
