LANE CLOSURES ON THE KENNEDY BRIDGE AUGUST 28-29

Motorists traveling on Highway 2 over the Kennedy Bridge in Grand Forks can expect short term delays and lane shifts as crews begin bridge sealing maintenance work. The work will begin Wednesday, August 28 at 7:30 a.m. and will be completed on Thursday, August 29.

During the lane closure, an 8 1/2-foot width-restriction will be in effect. Motorists can expect delays and should obey traffic control. MnDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and follow traffic signs in work zones.

The bridge deck is being resurfaced with a seal coat as a preventative maintenance measure that provides a protective layer, reducing deterioration due traffic and salt used for winter snow and ice removal. Drivers are urged to slow down and be alert for loose gravel and spraying in these areas.
