Lane Larson – Obit

Lane Erling Larson passed away peacefully in his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, on January 19, 2022.  Lane was born in Fargo, ND to Loren and Laurell (Fevig) Larson August 18, 1961 and grew up on a farm near Ulen, MN.  He attended Sharp School and Harbor School before graduating from Moorhead High Special Education program.

In 1980, Lane moved into a CCRI group home in Moorhead, MN and continued to enjoy weekends on the family farm near Ulen where he was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.  He began working through Connections where he cleaned hotel rooms throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area for many years. After semi-retiring, he worked at Culvers in Fargo until he fully retired. He attended a special Sunday School at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fargo. Lane enjoyed the Beach Boys, Batman, Frasier, Ghost Busters 2, traveling, attending car shows with his brother Gayle, McDonalds, Taco John’s, diet Mt. Dew and snapping his fingers to make the traffic light turn green. He showed us how to love, laugh, hug, empathize and pull pranks.

He is survived by his brother Joe Larson (Virginia Beach, VA), brother Gayle (Maxine) Larson (Moorhead, MN), sister Ruth Hegreberg (Ada, MN), sister Pat (Albert) Ochsner (Lampasas, TX), sister Julie (Bob) Larson (Rothsay, MN); several nieces and nephews; his beloved roommates: Brad, Greg and David; and the loving staff at CCRI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law Georgia and Julia Anne; nephews, Jeffrey, Michael, Darrin, Terry, and Tom; and his girlfriend Jackie.

A Celebration of Lane’s life will be held at CCRI on February 5, 2022 at 2 P.M., with a time of sharing and refreshments to follow. Covid protocols will be followed. Funeral will be held at Anderson Funeral Home at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to CCRI, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or a charity of your choice, in Lane’s Memory.
