LaVonne Jobe Hinkley – Obit

LaVonne C. (Jobe) Hinkley, 85, of Batesville, Arkansas, and an Eldred, MN native, passed away January 7, 2022, at the Woodlawn Heights Nursing Center in Batesville. LaVonne was born on July 29, 1936, in Eldred, Minnesota to Henry and Irene (Wachter) Jobe.

LaVonne was a loving and caring person with a gentle soul, who was a caregiver to all. She graduated from high school two years early. LaVonne had a unique sense of humor and loved to tend to her flower garden and bake all types of sweets.

Survivors include a son, James Hinkley of Ellendale, North Dakota; daughter, Jill Hinkley of Batesville, Arkansas; sister, Joyce Zahler of Westby, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Nichole Conner (Matthew), and Shelby O’Keefe (Devin); five great-grandchildren: Christian Edwards, Haley Altom, Samuel Conner, Alivia Conner and Roman Conner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Newman Hinkley; daughter, Patti Hinkley; two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial graveside funeral for LaVonne will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, MN with Pastor Douglas Thompson, officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 to 1:00 pm. Please consider bringing a lawn chair, sunglasses, and umbrella.
