Lawrence Knott – Obit

Lawrence Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at his Red Lake Falls home surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating, Father Matt Schmitz Con-celebrant and Deacon John Bruggeman. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will be held Monday April 23, 2018 from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Lawrence Michael Knott was born September 21, 1951 at St. Francis Hospital in Crookston, MN son of LaVern Henry and Loretta Elizabeth Knott. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. He attended Washington Elementary School and Lafayette High School graduating in 1970. On July 8, 1994 he was united in marriage to Sherry Noyes at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Red Lake Falls and to this union three children were born Steven, Jeremy and Laura. He farmed and also worked for Schmitz Construction. Lawrence enjoyed restoring antique tractors, hunting, carpentry work, spending time outside, and anything to do with farming. He also enjoyed going out for dinner, a good movie with family and he always saw the humor in every situation. Lawrence loved to drive around town, stopping for a cup of coffee at many places and visiting with everyone he could. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sons of the American Legion and the Tri River Pioneers in Plummer. Lawrence is survived by his wife Sherry Lynn Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; children Steven Lawrence Knott of Eden Prairie, MN, Jeremy Michael Knott of Crookston, MN and Laura Grace Victoria Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; Mother Loretta Elizabeth Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; siblings James (Carol) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN, twin sister Lorraine (Bruce) Galland of Bagley, MN, Jeffrey Knott of Kenner, LA, Daniel Knott of East Grand Forks, MN, Patty (George) Pawlik of Eden Prairie, MN, Cecelia (Paul) Eickhof of Crookston, MN, Alice Brunelle of Rogers, MN, Jacqueline (Tom) Smith of Owattona, MN, Anthony (Tammy) Knott of Covington, LA,  Agnes (Ray) Grenier of Crookston, MN, Paul (Shelly) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN, Joyce (Dave) Nixon of Greenfield, MN and Andrew Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father LaVern, brother Eugene, grandparents Harvey and Lillian Knott, Crispen and Freda Knott, and grandma Mary Knott. Lawrence’s family would like to thank everyone who has prayed, brought food, and offered their support as he battled cancer this past year.
