Linda Bjerke – Service Notice

Linda Bjerke, age 75, of Ada, MN, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Benedictine Care Community in Ada, MN.

Linda Sue Tubbs, the daughter of Dale and Donna (Morrison) Tubbs, was born on February 9, 1947, in Omaha, NE.  She grew up in Omaha and attended school there.  She studied nursing at the University of Omaha and proudly earned her LPN degree.  As a young woman, Linda worked for the Hospital of Neuroscience. Through mutual family and friends, she met Raymond Bjerke and the couple was married a short time later.  She moved to rural Ulen, MN where they made their home on Raymonds family farm. Linda worked for several years at the Ada Hospital and Nursing Home, but with the birth of their sons, Linda’s focus turned to her children.  She was a devoted mother who gave unselfishly to her boys.  Following their divorce, Linda moved to Hawley, MN then back to Nebraska after her mom’s death. Later, the family returned to Minnesota. In the early 2000’s Linda moved into Ulen and truly loved her little apartment there for many years.  As her health failed, Linda needed extra care and so has made her home at the Benedictine Care Community for the past several years.

In years past, Linda loved living on the farm and enjoyed a quiet life in the country. She was an avid seamstress, which was a helpful skill in altering all her clothing to fit her petite 4’11 frame. She hemmed everything!  Linda also spent hours embroidering and crocheting.  She was especially gifted at crocheting little stuffed animals to give away to others.  She also loved to watch Hallmark movies and HGTV shows.  More recently, Linda liked to read, work on puzzles, and simply visit with family.

Linda is survived by three sons: Kevin of Ulen, Chad of Moorhead, and Jared of Ulen; her ex-husband and friend, Raymond Bjerke of Ulen; one sister, Donna; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant son, Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place at Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery, at a later date.

Please feel free to sign the guestbook, send condolences and view other opportunities which may be available.
