Linda Marie Vigesaa – Obit

Linda Marie Vigesaa, 75, died peacefully in her cozy little home in Twin Valley, MN, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, with her daughter Kim and special friend Denise by her side and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Linda grew up in Twin Valley and was the daughter to Hilda (Prestegord) Grove and stepfather, Gerald Grove. Linda attended school in Twin Valley. She then moved to Fargo and was a waitress for a short time. She met Larry Vigesaa and they were united in marriage on March 30, 1964.

Larry and Linda adopted Kimberly Marie in 1971. Linda loved telling the story of picking her up off the plane in Minneapolis. From that point on Kim was the light of their lives. Larry owned a construction business that later brought them from living in Twin Valley to spending some time in Alaska. After moving back to Twin Valley, you could often find Linda cooking wonderful meals, canning delicious pickles, and raising batches of poodles. Linda had worked for the ACI Tech Center and for Chuck Gunnerson at Ada Produce. After retiring, she was content on staying home and often had visitors sitting in her yard just enjoying her kind heart and sweet giggle. Anyone who knew her would agree that a visit with Linda was always good for the soul. Music was always playing and usually, people honked as they drove by just to say hello to the wonderful woman she was.

Sister time, looking fancy, Walmart trips, the casino, old country songs, porcelain dolls, Opdahl Donuts, and Kim’s baked goodies were all of her favorite things. May the gentle love and memories of Linda be a favorite place in our hearts forevermore.

Linda is survived by her daughter Kim, of Twin Valley, MN; sister, Geri (Bruce) Bueng, Valley City, ND; sister-in-law, Kathy (Dan) Bredman, Ada, MN; and brothers-in-law, Butch Johnson and Ray Myers, both of Ada, MN; and several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends that are just like family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda; stepfather, Gerald; and sisters, Eleanor (Raymond) Myers, and Susie (Butch) Johnson.

Blessed be the memory of our dear Linda Marie.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Linda’s life will take place at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home in Ada on Thursday, February 18, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, with a 6:30 PM prayer service.
