LOCAL CHURCHES LOOKING TO HELP OUT THE CARE AND SHARE

This past week, there was a tragic incident at Care and Share that took the life of a resident and left many, including staff, feeling the traumatic effects.

As a result, Care and Share have shut down services for two weeks to allow healing and recovery. The hope is that residents and staff can return ready and able to move forward with their vital work. When the churches offered their support, Care and Share representatives said that a revitalizing change to the space would go a long way in helping everyone in that process.

“We took it on that we would try to get all of the churches together and provide volunteers to do painting of hallways and of public places at the Care and Share. There is also a need for some dollars to help provide slipcovers over furniture or decorations. Again, it is to kind of renew the place a bit so it doesn’t carry any of that stuff that happened and makes it more hospitable, more welcoming, and really a healing place when people come back into it.” mentions Gregory Isaacson, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. In this way, they hope to show support for Care and Share and God’s love to each individual as they reenter the building.

Pastor Isaacson also mentioned, “We really hope that people take the time to volunteer some time. I think we are going to provide the paint and some painting supplies.”

Painting will take place on July 15 through 17 in 3-hour shifts. Please let us know your availability using the Signup Genius link or on the paper signup sheet provided at any local church worship. An organizer will contact you on Sunday night to let you know your specific assignments.
