Lois Johnson, age 75, of Gully, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 6th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11th, at Bethel Assembly Church in Fosston with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Gosen Cemetery, rural McIntosh. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, August 10th, and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Lois was born in Minneapolis, MN, on October 8th, 1945 to Henrick & Marjorie Erickson.
The child of missionaries, Lois spent much of her childhood in Bolivia, before returning to Cantin South Dakota to attend a boarding school. She graduated Augustana Academy in 1963.
She attended California Lutheran Bible school, where she met her husband, Gary Johnson. They married on August 3, 1968, and resided together in Gully MN.
In 1969, she entered into the music ministry as a member of the Gloryland Gospel Team, where she was part of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout many states.
One of Lois’s many enjoyments in life was working on singing and recording the many songs her husband Gary would write about Jesus.
She gave of herself tirelessly to the needs of those around her.
In 1980, they began their family. They raised their four children on the Johnson family farm in Gully, MN, where they shared a beautiful life together.
Lois blessed her family by homeschooling all four of her children, canning home grown garden goods, sewing and mending clothes, and making delicious home cooked meals and baked goods. She was also a member of Gosen community church.
She is survived by her husband Gary Johnson; her four children, Jeremy (Anna) Johnson of Gully, MN; KaraLynn (Troy) Hemmer of Ramsey, MN; Nathan (Chara) Johnson of Baudette, MN; and Kevin (Aleza) Johnson of Bagley, MN; her 13 grandchildren, Segra, Cassandra, Evelynn, Eleanor, Alice, Simon, Ebony, Tizra, Oliver, Aiden, Caleb, Ronan, and Titus; her mother Marge Erickson of Minneapolis, MN; and her brother, Luther (Caren) Erickson, of Stillwater, MN.
She is preceded in death by her father, Henrich Erickson, brother Claire Erickson, and Grandson Lucas Johnson.
