Lorna Jean Solberg- Obit

Lorna Jean Solberg, age 54, of Crookston, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at her home in Crookston.  A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Stenshoel Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, with a visitation an hour prior.

Lorna was born on May 19, 1967, to Elroy and Avis (Narveson) Palmer in Grafton, North Dakota.  She was baptized at the Bethel Free Lutheran Church in Grafton and confirmed in Thief River Falls. Lorna attended school in Grafton.  Lorna went on to live in Grafton, Fosston, Minot, and the Twin Cities before settling in Crookston, MN, where she resided the remainder of her days.   Lorna held numerous jobs in her life, including roofing, but mainly in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant and most recently as a PCA at Independents Plus.

Lorna’s hobbies included crafts, ceramics, knitting, traveling, and making clothes and blankets, which she enjoyed donating to those in need.  She also loved spending time with her family.  Lorna loved helping others and had a way of making people smile.

She is survived by her children: Eric Christianson of Faribault, MN; Bennie Christianson of Mentor, MN; Laura (Brandon) Nienaber of Mentor, MN; Amber Maygra of Fargo, ND, David Maygra of Grand Forks, ND; and Amanda Maygra of Crookston, MN; her siblings: Lorena (John) Merseth of Audubon, MN; Loren (Sandra) Palmer of the Philippines; Clifford (June) Palmer of Hawley, MN; Charlene (Darin) Bekkedahl of Mentor, MN; and Brian Palmer of Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren: Jacqueline, Sarah, Katie, Alex, Paxton, Parker, Penny, Iris, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elroy and Avis; a stepfather Wayne Fredrickson; a son, Jason; an uncle, Arlen Narveson; and an aunt, Linda VanHorn.
