LOVES OUT AS MANAGERS AT DAROOS, UNCERTAIN WHETHER RESTAURANT WILL REMAIN OPEN

On November 8 Daroos announced it was for sale on a post to Facebook.  At that time manager, Julie Love said she and her husband, Larry, would stay with the restaurant throughout the duration of the sale.  However, circumstances have changed Love told KROX.  She says that Friday, November 22 will be the Loves final day as managers.  “Tomorrow, Friday, November 22, will be my last day as manager here at Daroos,” said Love.  “The owner (Amanda Grover) has some demands and expectations that she wants effective immediately.  Larry and I do not agree with those changes. It will jeopardize my employees; I have a fantastic crew.  And it will jeopardize the customer service that we’ve built over the last 8 months of being here.  We don’t want to be a part of anything that will jeopardize customer service.  So, we’ve decided that Friday will be our last day.  We will be pulling our buffet stuff out Friday night.  As far as what happens further, I have no idea.  Amanda said she’ll take it from here and figure out what she will do with the store.  I just want to thank Crookston again for being so supportive and all the nice things that they’ve said. You guys come in, support us at Daroos, boosted our sales and customer flow through here dramatically which has been awesome.  All the big companies like American Crystal, RiverView, and Otter Tail that come in an order big-ticket items.  We especially had a great time this summer with the Classic Cruisers on Thursday nights with our patio future.  That was a big hit, so, so much fun, so we thank them for that.”

Love said she doesn’t know if Daroos will stay open beyond Friday, and if it did, how long it would remain open.  “My crew I know some are looking for new jobs,” said Love.  “Some don’t want to work here if we are not the managers.  I know a few have already quit and will not be fulfilling [shifts] after tomorrow.  It is really unknown.  I can’t say or answer for Amanda.  She just said – she’ll take it from here – and just what happens I guess.  But I just wanted everybody to know that after tomorrow our duties here will be done and our buffet will be gone for noon lunches.”
