Lyle Dennis Jacobs – OBIT

Lyle Dennis Jacobs, 87, passed away peacefully at RiverView Hospital on Sunday, January 19, 2025, with his family close by his side.

He was born on January 22, 1937, in Ottawa Lake, Michigan, to parents Fredrick and Josephine (Dressler) Jacobs.  While attending Tecumseh High School, Lyle met, Evelyn Fay Perrin, the love of his life, and the two were married shortly after graduating in the late-1950s, right before Lyle entered the Army.  He proudly served his country for five years before receiving an honorable discharge.
Lyle and Fay, his beloved wife had 3 sons, Fredrick, Dennis and Michael and made their home in Adrian, MI, where Lyle owned and operated Jacobs’ Plastics Inc., which he ran for over 30 years, quite successfully.  Lyle always had a passion for hard work and even continued working after selling his business.  He was always a first-class tinkerer, if he wasn’t working, you could find him in the act of repairing and improving around the home.
In 2022, Lyle moved to Crookston after the death of his wife and lived at the Summit. He will be greatly missed for his lively personality, and for all of the little things that made Lyle who he was, like the way he was always snacking, particularly on rhubarb and chili.  Lyle loved to repair cars, collect guns, ride snowmobiles and motorcycles and support the local American Legion as its commander.  He was a wonderful father, business man, and member of the community for many years.
Lyle is survived by his two sons, Dennis (Shauna) and Michael (TJ); granddaughter Krysstin (Justin), grandsons Glenn, Douglas (Audre) and Duncan as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, his eldest son and his parents.  He was the last of seven brothers and sisters.
