MALE ARRESTED FOR TERRORIZING, RESISTING ARREST AT COLUMBIA MALL

On Wednesday, July 24 at approximately 6:31 p.m. officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to 2800 South Columbia Rd./Columbia Mall for a report of a disturbance involving a male subject reported to have a gun.  Upon arrival to the area mall security pointed out a male subject on mall property in the parking lot adjacent to Scheels.  Officers attempted to make contact with the male but he fled on foot through the area.  After a brief foot chase and struggle, officers were able to take custody of the male who was identified as 33-year-old Grand Forks resident Michael Johnson. 

The victim reported Johnson had erratic behavior and made a threat that he had a firearm putting the victim in fear for their life.  Johnson was arrested and charged with terrorizing, refusal to halt and resisting arrest.  At this time, it appears no firearms were involved, and none were recovered on the scene.
