MAN SHOT IN LEG IN ACCIDENTAL FIREARM DISCHARGE AT A GRAND FORKS POST OFFICE

On Thursday, October 10 at around 2:01 p.m. officers of the Grand Forks Police Department responded to a report of an accidental shooting with injuries in the parking lot of the Post Office at 2501 28th Ave. S.   Upon arrival officers found a man in his 30s with a wound to his leg.  The man was transported to Altru Hospital by ambulance.  At this time, it appears it was an accidental discharge while the man was handling a 9mm pistol.  A request will be forwarded to the City Prosecutor to determine if any charges will be filed.
