Mark A. Hanson – OBIT

Mark A. Hanson, 58, Fertile, MN, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at his residence in Fertile after a short illness.

Mark Allen Hanson was born on November 1, 1965, to Rodney and DeVaughn (Askelson) Hanson in Ada, MN. Mark attended Fertile Beltrami High School and graduated in 1984.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Fertile and was confirmed there.
Mark lived and worked on the family farm in rural Fertile. He moved with his family to Fertile in 1987. He was then employed by Engelstad Farms, and Tilden Farms. For the past 26 years, he was employed by Transystems in Crookston, MN, as a truck driver until January of 2004, when he retired due to health reasons.

Mark was upbeat and had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his generosity. He enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his Harley, hunting, and trips to the casino.

Mark is survived by his mother, DeVaughn Hanson; brother, Michael (Ann) Hanson; sister, Michelle Hanson, all of Fertile, MN; special friend and brother, Dean (Sherry) Johnson, Fertile, MN; niece, Danelle Thorson; great nieces, Gabrielle and Avery; and great nephew, Landon.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Hanson; his grandparents; uncles, Ronnie, Curt, and Leroy; aunt, Joyce Bestul; and several cousins.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, May 6, 2024, at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral at the funeral home.

Interment: Concordia South Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
