MARSHALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS MAN LIVING WITH HIS GRAND PARENTS ON DRUG CHARGES

On Wednesday, August 28, the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in Marshall County near Strathcona.  Shane Scherven was arrested at the home he resides with his grandparents.

Agents seized approximately 176 grams of methamphetamine, a large amount of U.S. currency, a digital scale, and numerous other items related to the sale and use of methamphetamine.

On August 30, Scherven was charged with 1st-degree possession of controlled substance with a maximum of 40 years and a $1 million fine, or both.

Scherven is currently on probation for 1st-degree Burglary, 3rd-degree Burglary and Felony Theft in Marshall and Kittson Counties.  Scherven is also currently facing charges in Pennington County for Felony Theft and Felony Drugs and in Goodhue County for Felony Forgery and Felony Theft.

Agents also arrested Samantha Perez on an unrelated Felony warrant out of St. Louis County for 4th-degree Possession of Drugs – Heroin.

The case is ongoing and no further information is being released.

The Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
