Minakwa Golf Course had groomed the grounds for cross country skiing

Minakwa Golf Course has groomed the course with cross-country skiing trails after the recent snowfall. It is the second year they are offering cross-country skiing across the course. “It’s nice that we finally got snow earlier in the winter for cross-country skiing, hopefully it stays,” said co-owner Brandon Carlson. “There’s a map in the clubhouse (and pictured below), and it kind of shows the approximate location of the trails, and it’s all free to use.”
Carlson said they will keep the trails up and groomed for those who want to use them. “We’ll try to groom it whenever we need to. It blew in a little bit yesterday, so I’ll probably go out when I get some time and run over everything again.”

Minakwa has some supplies for people to use. “There are some cross-country skis and poles in the clubhouse for people to use if they don’t have their own,” said Carlson, who added. “Anybody using the trails will need to come in once a year and sign a liability waiver.”
Using the trails is free of charge. “Everything’s free. We don’t charge for any of the cross-country ski stuff,” said Carlson. “We’re just kind of trying to offer a fun winter activity in town to get people outside. It looks like it should be good cross-country skiing weather next week.”
