MINAKWA GOLF COURSE IS NOW OPEN FOR WALKERS BUT WAITING FOR DRIER GRASS BEFORE USING CARTS AND DRIVING RANGE

The Minakwa Golf Course is ready to be open to the public later this afternoon at about 2:00 p.m. today after the Crookston High School Boy’s Golf Meet’s conclusion. However, the Course is only open for walking due to the Course still being wet from last night’s storm. Minakwa is hopeful that the golf course will be dry enough for Carts by Sunday, May 22, or later next week.

The Minakwa Golf Course Driving and Practice Range are also closed due to the wet conditions and hope to have them open again at the same time the golf carts are available to be used on the Course. The Golf Course has added an online booking system on their page at Chronogolf.com and says that anyone who wishes to see if the Course is open or using carts or not that day can go to the page to find out. “We do also now have an online booking system, so you can go to www.chronogolf.com/ and search for Minakwa, and we have updates on our Chronogolf link that will say if we are allowing or not allowing carts that day,” Minakwa Golf Course Manager Jessica Ross explained. Ross also explained that the Course’s Clubhouse is also currently open for beverages for when golfers are done playing their rounds, but that their kitchen will not be open until the day after Memorial Day for limited days and hours until Labor Day. “The Clubhouse is open for beverages right now, but the kitchen won’t be open until Tuesday, May 31,” Manager Jessica Ross explained. “Which will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Tuesdays to Sundays until Labor Day,” she added.

Ross also explained that they hope to have the Course fully opened for golfers next week, but much of the Course is still waiting to dry, and she believes that it will probably be operational later in the week. “It all just depends on the weather. I know there’s a chance of rain on Monday again, and we have a High School Girl’s Golf Meet on Monday morning,” Ross explained, “Then we’ll just have to see what the weather brings, the wind is good for drying, but it’s going to be a cool weekend. Hopefully, the Course will dry up quickly, and we can have carts out there again. We’re just as anxious to be fully open as everyone else is,” she added.

If you wish to see when the Minkawa Golf Course is open and what they have available for upcoming dates, you can go to www.chronogolf.com/ and click on Minakwa’s page to see their Tee Sheet, or you can check their page on Facebook on any updates, or call them at 218-281-1773.
