September is shaping up to be a busy month for the Crookston Public Library. In addition to celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month, held annually in September, the library will host a number of events offering opportunities for enrichment, education, and entertainment.
On Tuesday, September 1, at 6:30 p.m., Gladius will take the stage, bringing a dynamic and family-friendly performance that blends classical and flamenco guitar music. Admission is free, thanks in part to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. The program will be held at the Crookston Public Library.

Drop-in Technology Assistance will be offered on Thursday, September 3, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Registration is preferred, but not required. Gotta catch ’em all – calling all Pokémon Trainers! Join the Crookston Public Library on Thursday, September 3, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for an afternoon of fun, including swapping cards, coloring your own Pokémon, and participating in a trivia challenge. This is one of several programs for youth held throughout the month; others include weekly Storytime (Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.) for youth ages 3-6 and a weekly Baby Bounce (Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.) for youth ages 0-3.
Minnesota author Carrie Classon will visit the Crookston Public Library on Tuesday, September 8, at 2:00 p.m. to discuss her breakout northern Minnesota novel, Loon Point. In this engaging theatrical presentation, Carrie will explore how stories bring meaning to our lives and how the tales we tell can transform us in unexpected ways. Following the presentation, Carrie will host an open Q&A to answer questions about writing, publishing, and the art of storytelling.
That evening, a special Nighttime Storytime & Craft will be offered at the library, inviting youth and their caregivers to cozy up with enchanting tales and a creative craft. The program will be held Tuesday, September 8 at 5:00 p.m. and is geared for youth ages 0-6.
