Nancy C. (Olson) Lee – Obit

Nancy C. (Olson) Lee, 86, Honolulu HI, formerly of Fertile, MN, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

Nancy was born in Fargo, North Dakota on June 18, 1935. Her parents, George and Frances Olson moved to Fertile, Minnesota after WWII where they operated Fertile Hardware for many years. She graduated from Fertile High School in 1953 and attended Moorhead State University. On October 16, 1955, she married Curtis Lee of Ada, Minnesota.

An active Army wife, she supported her husband during a military career of 24 years that ended in February 1980 when her husband retired. She was involved with the Red Cross Gray Ladies, Army Community Service Volunteers, and many Officer’s Wives Club activities. Nancy had a passion for dogs, always caring for one or more. She enjoyed watercolor painting, shopping, playing bridge, and spending time with friends. In retirement, she lived in Hawaii Kai as a housewife.

Together Nancy and Curtis raised three children. Nancy is survived by her husband, Curtis; one daughter, Kathleen Rego of Honolulu; two sons, Richard Lee (Susan) of Georgetown, Texas, and Larry Lee of Leander, Texas; five grandchildren, Jonathan Rego of Kailua, Hawaii, Major Christopher Rego, stationed in Saudi Arabia, Laura Rego of Honolulu, and Samantha Lee and Rex Lee of Georgetown, Texas; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Olson.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
