Natalie Baird – Obit

Natalie Baird, 55, Crookston, MN passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Riverview Health in Crookston after a long battle with cancer.

Natalie was born on April 4, 1967, to Robert and Loretta Ross in Crookston, MN. After Natalie graduated from Fisher High School in 1985, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota.

She worked for many years at Crookston Building Center. She considered her co-workers and the Camerons as part of her extended family.

In 1989 she married Don Winand and they had 3 children, Colton, Carter, and Quinn.

In 2006 she married Bobby Baird and they blended their families together with much love.

Natalie enjoyed camping, hiking, doing creative art projects, reading, and her pets. Her happy place was the North Shore near Duluth. But her greatest joy in life was her family. Bobby would do anything for her, and she for him. She was so proud of her 3 children, Colton, Carter, and Quinn, and the men they have become and whose company she thoroughly enjoyed. She enjoyed going to many Vikings games with her dad, Bob, although no Super Bowl. She was very close to her siblings and enjoyed their company, comfort, and support. Her Aunties Jan, Marilee, Pam, and Jeanette also were always a source of great times! Natalie was so grateful for the many friends that she could lean on for support. She has many wonderful memories and great times with them.

Natalie’s family would like to thank Dr. Potti and all his staff for the wonderful care she received at the Cancer Center of North Dakota. Everyone was always cheerful and uplifting which made the treatment seem so much better.

Natalie is survived by her husband, Bobby Baird; father, Robert Ross; children, Colton, Carter, and Quinn (Anna Huck) Winand, Kaylie (Joe Breidenbach), Grand Forks, ND, and Brock Baird, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, MaKenna, Kamber, and Ava; sisters, Valerie (Randy) Korynta, Fisher, MN, and Leah (Jade) Klein, Fisher, MN; brother, Justin (Sharon) Ross, East Grand Forks, MN; brother-in-law, Jerry (Annette) Baird, Crookston, MN; sisters-in-law, Robyn (Bruce) Conkins, Brainerd, MN, and Peggy (Tom) Jivery, Hibbing, MN; step-mother-in-law, Carol Baird, Crookston, MN; step-sisters-in-law, Sandy (Mick) Herkenhoff, Sioux Falls, SD, and Shelley (Marshall) Werden, Plymouth, MN; and step-brother-in-law, Brian Johnson, Rimrock, AZ; and many nephews and nieces.
