NEW BATHHOUSE SET DOWN YESTERDAY AT CENTRAL PARK CAMPGROUND

Crookston Parks and Recreation has been updating its Central Park campground, the main update being the addition of a new bathhouse.

The bathhouse was set down on the north side of the campground yesterday. Park and Rec. Director Jake Solberg describes the moving process, “So, the company came in (Huffcutt Concrete), and then we hired a crane company out of Bemidji. They came in yesterday, June 19. They came up, and they set it. The bathhouse is set; we are going to be putting it together here in the next couple of days or next week. There are just some minor things like plumbing hookup and electrical hookup. For things like that, we have to get water going. It’s set. We just have to get it finalized and finished.”

The bathhouse project will be wrapped up in short order. However, some work on the campground still needs to be finished before it is fully opened. Solberg details, “They need to hydro seed and put some mulch down. These are just some last-minute things that you’ve got to do but can’t do with all of the current construction. We just need Mother Nature to be sunny and dry up things to get that done.”

The current goal is for the Central Park campground to open in the second half of this summer.
