NEW FLYER SUES FORMER EMPLOYER THAT ACCIDENTLY RECEIVED $137,000 IN DIRECTO DEPOSIT

New Flyer in Crookston has filed a civil lawsuit against Irene and Brian Thompson in an effort to reclaim a $137,000 overpayment via direct deposit to Irene Thompson, a former employee.

The lawsuit states that on December 30 of 2022, they errored when they processed Irene Thompson’s direct deposit paycheck when they deposited $137,521.94 when it should have been $1,125.60. Irene Thompson never returned to work and was fired on January 5, 2023 after missing three straight days of work.
New Flyer wasn’t aware of the deposit error until January 17, 2023.

Irene Thompson is already facing four felony criminal charges in the case, with her next court appearance on May 2.

Brian Thompson is facing two felony criminal charges, and his next court appearance will be on Tuesday, April 11.
