Friday, July 17, was the fourth day to file to run for Crookston Mayor and Crookston City Council. Here is the updated list of candidates who have filed for election.
CROOKSTON MAYOR –
No candidates filed to run for mayor on Friday. So far, former City Councilmember Kristie Jerde, current City Council member and vice mayor Morgan Hibma, and Dave Rendon have filed to run for mayor.
CITY COUNCIL WARD 4 –
No candidates filed to run for City Council Ward 4 on Friday. Current Ward 4 Councilman Don Cavalier is the only candidate who has filed, as he will seek re-election to the council.
CITY COUNCIL AT-LARGE –
No candidates filed to run for the At-Large City Council seat on Friday. Wendy Ault is the only candidate that has filed, as she will run for re-election in her At-Large seat on the council.
CITY COUNCIL WARD 2 –
Nobody filed to run for the City Council in Ward 2 on Friday. Matt Rosu is the only candidate that has filed to run.
CITY COUNCIL WARD 6 –
Nobody has filed for City Council in Ward 6 as of Friday.
Filing closes July 28, 2026. Those interested in filing for Crookston Mayor and the four city council openings can file at Crookston City Hall (124 North Broadway) with a filing fee of $2. Candidates who file may withdraw from the election by 5:00 p.m. on July 30.
The primary election is August 11, and the General Election is November 3, 2026.
