On Saturday, February 22 at 12:08 p.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a snowmobile fire along U.S. Highway 2 in Fisher Township northwest of the City of Fisher. The Fisher Fire Department and East Grand Forks Fire Department also responded.
The snowmobile, a 2016 Polaris Adventure owned by the Grand Forks Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation Program, was being ridden by Nicholas England of the Grand Forks Air Force Base when the engine reportedly caught fire. The East Grand Forks Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries reported. The snowmobile was a total loss and was removed from the scene.
