NORTH DAKOTA WOMAN STRUCK A GRAND FORKS SQUAD CAR, ROLLED VEHICLE FOLLOWING PURSUIT

On April 15, 2021, at approximately 8:49 p.m., officers with the Grand Forks Police Department were at the Ambassador Motel for an unrelated call for service. While there, officers observed a vehicle strike an unoccupied Grand Forks Police Department squad car and then flee the scene.

Officers pursued the suspect vehicle with emergency equipment activated. The vehicle fled eastbound and eventually went Southbound on Cherry Street. Due to the suspect’s high rate of speed officers terminated the pursuit.

A short time later this same vehicle was involved with a single-vehicle rollover crash in Grand Forks County at 300 11th St. NE. The driver was identified as 35-year-old Codi Packineau from Buxton, ND. She was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to Altru with unknown injuries.

Charges are pending for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Driving Under the Influence. If anyone has any additional information, please call the Grand Forks Police at (701) 787-8000.
