Northland Community & Technical College Announces Leadership Academy 2025

Northland Community & Technical College’s Workforce Development Solutions announces the launch of Leadership Academy 2025. The program will feature a series of monthly sessions running from January through May 2025. The distinguished presenters will include Colleen Falk, an entrepreneur, educator, and small business development consultant with over 30 years of experience, and Alex Nordlund, who brings more than a decade of expertise in utilizing CliftonStrengthsTM to strengthen relationships and enhance team dynamics.

The sessions are scheduled as follows:

● Leadership Skills: The Personal Side of Leadership (January 9, 2025)

● CliftonStrengthsTM (February 13, 2025)

● Managing Accountability, Culture, and Engagement (March 13, 2025)

● Leadership Communication: Tools for Development (April 10, 2025)

● Creating Vision and Purpose (May 8, 2025)

Participants will acquire valuable insights and practical tools aimed at enhancing their effectiveness and impact as leaders. Additionally, the program will provide opportunities to expand professional networks and foster connections among individuals dedicated to personal and professional growth. “The research is compelling,” states Kirsten Michalke, Dean of Workforce Development Solutions at Northland. “Organizations that prioritize employee engagement tend to experience increased productivity. Participants in leadership training programs often show marked improvements in their performance. Leadership Academy 2025 represents an important opportunity for organizations to invest in the growth of their employees, ultimately enhancing their overall profitability.”

During the research phase for the academy, it was revealed that 76% of millennials view professional development as critical. This finding highlights the necessity for organizations to commit resources to professional development to effectively retain a younger workforce.

Participants in the Leadership Academy will benefit from five comprehensive leadership sessions, lunches, a leadership strengths assessment, a leadership toolbox, recommended leadership literature, and a certificate of completion.

Registration for the full academy is not required; individuals may register for individual sessions, and an academy pass can be shared among colleagues.
