NORTHWEST MENTAL HEALTH CENTER TO LIMIT ACCESS STARTING MARCH 23

Due to increased concern and spread of COVID-19, Northwestern Mental Health Center (NWMHC) will limit public access starting Monday, March 23, 2020. New and existing clients can receive services via telephone and telemedicine.

“We want to reassure our clients and communities. We are not closing our doors. We are only taking precautions to keep everyone safe,” says Shauna Reitmeier, Chief Executive Officer at NWMHC. “We recognize that our team can’t provide support for our communities if they aren’t healthy. Because we’ve got the technology and infrastructure to offer our services virtually, we’re going to do that whenever possible.”

The Northwestern Mental Health Center anticipates there will be some instances when a client will need to meet in the office. However, the provider will meet with them through telemedicine. The team will assess these requests on a case-by-case basis. Everyone entering the facility will be asked questions related to their travel and health.

The 24/7 Crisis Hotline is available, and they encourage people to use this resource before they reach the point of a crisis. The Mobile Crisis Response Team will continue providing services with additional precautions such as social distancing and the use of virtual means if possible.

Please email communication@nwmhc.org for any mental health or substance use disorder questions and concerns related to COVID-19.
