NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ARTS COUNCIL ANNOUNCES GRANTS FOR GOVERNMENT ENTITIES AND NONPROFITS

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) is pleased to announce that grant applications for government entities and nonprofit organizations will open on July 1. Applications will be accepted from entities within the seven-county Minnesota service area, which includes Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau counties.

Nonprofits and government organizations are invited to apply for grants to support arts projects, with deadlines on July 31, October 31, and February 29. These grants, ranging from $500 to $10,000, are funded through Clean Water, Land, Legacy funds, and general allocation funds from the State of Minnesota.

“This grant opportunity aims to enhance the cultural landscape of our communities,” said Mara Hanel, Director of NWMAC. “Supported projects may include festivals, community theater initiatives, folk music events, visual arts demonstrations, creative writing workshops, and other activities that enrich the quality of life for residents.”

To assist applicants, NWMAC will host a free grant writing session on July 17 at 11 a.m. The session will be available via Zoom and at the NWMAC office in Warren. I want you to know that interested participants must RSVP to attend.

“For those new to the process, we encourage attending our grant writing session,” added Mara Hanel. “Our team is dedicated to supporting applicants throughout the online application process.”

For more information about NWMAC’s grant programs and to begin an application, please visit www.NorthwestMinnesotaArtsCouncil.org. If you have any questions or need help, please contact Mara Hanel at director@NWArtsCouncil.org or call 218-745-8886.
