Obit – Delores Schulz

Delores V. Schulz, 88, of Euclid, MN, passed away early Saturday morning, October 15, 2022, at home with her family by her side. 

Delores Vivian Onsager was born on March 5, 1934, in Lengby, MN, to Ben and Alice (Dunning) Onsager. She attended country school in the Lengby area. She married Martin Schulz on November 11, 1955 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Euclid. Delores and Martin lived and farmed east of Euclid, where they raised their four children: Ronald, Dennis, Donna, and Brian. In 1988 Delores and Martin built a new house in Euclid, where they spent their remaining years.  

In addition to being a busy farm wife, Delores enjoyed gardening and quilting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores was a faithful and life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Euclid, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She also belonged to the Euclid American Legion Auxiliary.  

Delores is survived by her children: Ronald (Carol) Schulz of Euclid, Dennis (Denise) Schulz of Euclid, Donna (Jeff Luck) Stroot of Bemidji, Brian (Brenda) Schulz of Euclid; grandchildren: Jennifer (Robert) Weber, Randee (Christopher) Jurgens, Rebecca Schulz, Manni Schulz, Tuffy Schulz, Richard Schulz, Eli Schulz, Alison Schulz, Brett (Jill) Schulz, Josh (Ashley) Howdahl, Jacob Schulz, Nicholas Schulz, Craig (Leah) Stroot, Erica (Tyler) Janke, Aubrey (Jacob) Barney, Lukas (Becca) Schulz, Lindsey (Blaine) Goering, Jared (Jami) Johnson, Tanner Johnson; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Priscilla (Bill) Taylor of Frankenmuth, MI, and Sharon (Richard) Kappedal of Fosston.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Martin; sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Joyce Ringstad; and brother Delbert Onsager. 

The Schulz family would like to thank the staff of Benedictine Living Community for the care Delores received before she entered hospice care, and Red River Hospice for the care they gave during the last few months. Special thanks go to Kaitlyn Thingelstad for caring for Delores during the last three months. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fisher, MN. The Reverend Douglas Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Euclid, MN, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fisher. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Euclid. The funeral service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at Delores’ obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com
