ONE ARRESTED AFTER REPORTS OF SHOTS FIRED IN MAHNOMEN

On Sunday, May 12 at approximately 8:19 p.m. Mahnomen County Deputies and White Earth Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the City of Mahnomen.  22-year-old Chase Gagnon of Mahnomen was taken into custody without incident.

Gagnon is suspected of firing about 11 rounds from a 9mm pistol in the area of Main St and Monroe Ave. The rounds were fired in random directions and there is no clear motive for the shooting. Gagnon is believed to have been under the influence of an illegal substance at the time of the incident.

Bullet fragments were collected after going through a window of the United Valley Bank, and there was evidence of bullets striking the pavement in several locations of the street nearby.  No one was injured in the incident and there is no risk to the public.
