One candidate files to run for Crookston Mayor during the sixth day of the candidate filing period

Candidate filing for Crookston Mayor and Crookston City Council continued on Monday.

CROOKSTON MAYOR –
Bishop Jensen filed to run for mayor on Monday. Jensen is a local business owner and previously ran for City Council in Ward 1 in 2024.

Jensen joins former City Council member Kristie Jerde, current City Council At-Large member and vice-Mayor Morgan Hibma, and Dave Rendon as those who have filed to run for mayor.

CITY COUNCIL WARD 2 –

No candidates filed to run for City Council Ward 2 on Monday. Matt Rosu is the only candidate to file for Ward 2.

CITY COUNCIL WARD 4 –
No candidates filed to run for City Council Ward 4 on Monday. So far, current Crookston City Councilman in Ward 4, Don Cavalier, has filed to run for re-election.

CITY COUNCIL AT-LARGE –
No candidates filed to run for the At-Large City Council seat on Monday. Wendy Ault is the only candidate that has filed, as she will run for re-election in her At-Large seat on the council.

CITY COUNCIL WARD 6 –
Nobody has filed for City Council in Ward 6 as of Monday.

Filing closes July 28, 2026. Those interested in filing for Crookston Mayor and the four city council openings can file at Crookston City Hall (124 North Broadway) with a filing fee of $2. Candidates who file may withdraw from the election by 5:00 p.m. on July 30.

The primary election is August 11, and the General Election is November 3, 2026.
