The deceased individual inside the residence was 60-year-old Kevin Haugen. The
injured occupants were 31-year-old Zachary Haugen, two children ages 4 & 8.

ORIGINAL STORY – JUNE 25
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire near the bus garage in Fosston, at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25. When responders arrived, the house located at 718 1st Street East was fully engulfed in flames, and it was believed that one occupant was still inside the house. The Fosston Fire Department was able to put out the fire and located one deceased individual inside the residence. The other occupants of the house were able to get out, and some sustained injuries, which are unknown at this time. The Minnesota Fire Marshall’s office was contacted and responded to the scene.
Assisting Agencies include Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Fosston Fire Department, McIntosh Fire Department, and the Minnesota Fire Marshall’s Office, Essentia Ambulance.
No further information will be released at this time.
