Filing for the Crookston School Board and Crookston City Council and Mayor general election are underway and will close on Tuesday, August 16.
One person filed for the Crookston City Council, but no one filed for the mayor, or the School Board on Monday.
CITY OF CROOKSTON FILINGS –
MAYOR – (Current seat held by Dale Stainbrook) Clayton Briggs (current Crookston City Councilman in Ward 3) filed for mayor on August 2. Dale Stainbrook also filed for mayor on Wednesday, August 10.
WARD 2 – (Current seat held by Steve Erickson, who has said he won’t run again) No filings on Friday.
WARD 4 – (Current seat held by Donald R. Cavalier) Donald R. Cavalier filed Wednesday, August 10.
WARD 6 – (Current seat held by Dylane Klatt) Dylane Klatt and Morgan Hibma filed on Friday, August 12.
COUNCIL MEMBER AT LARGE – (Current seat held by Tom Vedbraaten) Tim Menard filed Tuesday, August 2. Lane DeVoge filed on Monday, August 15.
To file for Crookston City Council or Mayor, go to Crookston City Hall between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. The cost is $2. You can file through August 16 at 5:00 p.m.
CROOKSTON SCHOOL BOARD FILINGS – (There are three openings for Crookston School Board. Up for election is Patty Dillabough, Adrianne Winger, and Tim Dufault.)
SCHOOL BOARD – Adrianne Winger and Patty Dillabough (current Crookston School Board members) on Wednesday, August 3.
Tim Dufault (current Crookston School Board member) and Marcia Meine filed for the School Board on Tuesday, August 9.
Marianne Isaacs filed for the School Thursday, August 11
To file for one of three openings for the Crookston School Board, stop by the Crookston School District Office on the east side of the Crookston High School between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday. Use door 10. The filing fee is $2. You can file through August 16 to 5:00 p.m.
POLK COUNTY COMMISSIONER FILINGS – (only accepting write-in candidacies for the general election on November 8)
DISTRICT 2 – (Current seat held by Joan Lee) Joan Lee and Dennis Boucher have filed for Commissioner of District 2
DISTRICT 4 – (Current seat held by Warren Strandell) Warren Strandell and Kurt Knutson have filed for Commissioner of District 4
DISTRICT 5 – (Current seat held by Mark Holy) Mark Holy has filed for Commissioner of District
If a person is interested in a write-in candidate, you must have residents include you as a write-in candidate on the blank spot on the ballot on November 8, for the general election.
