Patricia “Pat” M. Treptow – OBIT

Patricia “Pat” M. Treptow, 93, Ada, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, under the care of Benedictine Care Community and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Patricia Marie (Lofshult) Treptow was born on September 11, 1930, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Paul and Alta Marie (White) Lofshult. She attended school in Sloan, Iowa, until graduating in 1948.

Pat received her teaching certification from Cedar Falls Teacher’s College in Iowa. She taught kindergarten and first grade in Sioux City and Pierson, Iowa. When James Treptow returned from serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea, they were married in Pierson on February 4, 1953. They raised three daughters: Luanne, Mary and Patricia.

In 1967, they moved their family to Ada from Fargo, North Dakota. Being part of the original members of Faith United Church, Pat was a dedicated and active member. Over the years, she served as the head Communion Steward, was active in her Women’s Circle and truly enjoyed her involvement in the Church Bazaar fundraiser each year.

Pat managed the Creamery Gift and Book shop for a number of years, and enjoyed flower gardening and her cats. She was quite an expert in flower and cat care. Another activity that brought enjoyment were her visits to the Ada Public Library for books and to participate the in watercolor and felting classes.

Pat is survived by her children, Luanne (Clay) Visser of Ada, Mary Treptow of Minneapolis, and Patricia (Gordon) Sprattler of Arizona; grandchildren, Eric (Cassie) Visser of Ada, Elizabeth (Ron) Gerber of Minneapolis, and Jackson Sprattler of Arizona; great-grandsons, Bennett, Elliott and Garrett Visser, and John Gerber; sister, Margaret Behmer of Rockford, IL; and four nieces and one nephew.

She is preceded in death by former husband, James Treptow; parents, Paul and Alta Marie Lofshult; and brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Behmer.

Memorial Service: 5:30 PM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at SonRise Evangelical Free Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: 4:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at SonRise Evangelical Free Church, Ada, MN.

Inurnment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
