Patricia Schindler – Obit

Patricia Schindler of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at her rural Red Lake Falls home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner officiating and Deacon John Bruggeman. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Patricia Bernice Amiot was born April 3, 1933, daughter of Isadore and Diana (Poirier) Amiot in Gentilly, MN. She was raised in Gentilly for a time, moved to Crookston and in October 1947 she and her family moved to California. Following high school graduation, she moved back to Crookston where she worked at the hospital as a nurse’s aide until her marriage.

On July 7, 1955, Patricia was united in marriage to Eugene Schindler in Red Lake Falls, MN. To this union 11 children were born; Vivian, Andrew, Patty, Mark, Joan, James, Michael, Daniel, Karen, Linda, and Darrell. The couple made their home south of Red Lake Falls in Lake Pleasant Township where they continued to live their entire lives. Pat enjoyed crocheting, quilting and flower gardening. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Pat is survived by her children, Andrew (Joni), Warroad, MN, Patty (Roger) Piche’, Red Lake Falls, MN, Mark, Mentor, MN, Joan Dodds, Fargo, ND, Michael (Jackie), West Fargo, ND, Daniel (Carolyn), Greenbush, MN, Karen (Brian) Theroux, St. Francis, MN, Linda (Bill) Rivard, Baudette, MN, Darrell (Rachel), Grand Rapids, MN: son-in-law Jerry (Elaine) Gorden, Buxton, ND; grandchildren, Amy Buckholz, Tina Piche’, Rhonda (Jared) Graetz, Jamie (Nickolay) Ryabov, Stacey (Zack Powell) Piche’, Erin (Jeff) Sorenson, Jason Schindler, Megan (Tyler) Spann, Stephanie Schindler, Katie Theroux, Ethan Schindler, Gregory Bolton, Paul Rivard, Sierra Rivard, Karly Theroux, Eric Schindler, Michaela Schindler, Daniel Brookins, Joseph Brookins,  Emily Schindler, and Heather Theroux: great-grandchildren Chloe, Aubrey, Lilly, Rosalie, Julian, Victoria, Mario, Rico, Malaya, Destiny, Harmonee, Andrey, Amalia, Alexey, Anna, Anton, Madelyn, Walter, Blake, Finn, Willow, and Theodore.  Sisters Donna Hamett of Texas and Georgian (Jim) Snodgrass of California; sisters-in-law Dolores Schindler, Mary Schindler and brothers-in-law Ted Schindler, and George (Sharon) Jacobs: along with many nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband Eugene, parents, daughter Vivian Gorden, son  James and daughter-in-law Shelly Schindler; sisters Lorraine (George) LaPlante, Marcella (Ed) Roman, Jean (Ed) Schindler, Darlene (Vincent) Schenk, and brother Jerome Amiot; brothers-in-law Raymond (MaryAnn) Schindler, Bernard Schindler, Vern Schindler, Valentine Schindler, Leon Marsh, Roy Hamett: sisters-in-law Louise (Joseph) Kees, Veronica (Leo) Hoefer, Josephine (Eugene) Teggatz, Mary Ann (John) Schafer, and Marianne Schindler.
