The City of Crookston released a statement Tuesday announcing the conclusion of a complaint investigation regarding Patrol Sergeant Sean Murphy and his return to duty as a Patrol Officer. The statement is below –
Sean Murphy began employment with the City of Crookston Police Department as a Patrol Officer on April 1, 2018, and has served the city as a Patrol Sergeant since December 31, 2019.
Sean Murphy has been on paid leave from employment with the city since March 1, 2021.
A complaint was made against Sean Murphy as a city employee. The city investigated the complaint. The investigation is concluded. The complaint is disposed of.
Sean Murphy will begin employment as Patrol Officer for the city on April 15, 2021.
The city takes any complaints about its police officers seriously and takes any appropriate actions to resolve such concerns.
The city is confident that the Crookston Police Department will continue to provide public safety functions for the community safely, effectively, and efficiently.
